Community Rules

1. Disclose paid promotion

Do:

• Say so, in the post itself, if you were paid or otherwise compensated to post about a security.

Don't:

• Post about a security you were paid to promote without disclosing that compensation. This is a bannable offense.

2. No market manipulation

Don't:

• Coordinate with others to pump or dump a ticker, organize a buying or selling campaign timed to move a price, or spread information you know to be false or misleading about a security.
• Use multiple accounts to make a claim or a prediction look more supported than it really is.

3. Be respectful

Do:

• Disagree with someone's take on a ticker without attacking them personally.
• Assume good faith, especially in a fast-moving thread.

Don't:

• Harass, threaten, or repeatedly target another user.
• Use slurs or vulgar language. Our automated filters catch a lot of this before it posts, but the rule applies everywhere on the platform, filtered or not.

4. Prohibited content

Don't post:

• Content that is illegal, fraudulent, or that facilitates a crime.
• Impersonation of another person, company, or official account.
• Anything you don't have the rights to post.
• Files or attachments of any kind. OTSeen is text only, and nowhere on the platform accepts uploads.

5. No doxxing

Don't:

• Post another person's home address, phone number, workplace, financial account details, or other private identifying information without their consent, regardless of whether they are a fellow user or a person connected to a company you're discussing.

6. No spam

Don't:

• Post repetitive, low-effort, or off-topic content across threads to farm visibility for a ticker or a link.
• Flood a board with duplicate predictions or statements.

7. Dispute outcomes respectfully

Do:

• Use the appeals process if you think a moderation decision, a statement resolution, or a prediction outcome was recorded incorrectly.
• Cite a public primary source, such as a filing or press release, when you think a resolution needs correcting.

Don't:

• Harass a moderator, an admin, or another user over a resolution or ruling you disagree with.

8. One account, real identity

Do:

• Keep to a single OTSeen account.

Don't:

• Create additional accounts to evade a timeout or a ban, to vote multiple times, or to make your own posts look independently corroborated.

9. How we enforce these rules

Automated filters screen posts for obvious violations before they publish. Moderators and administrators can also remove content after the fact, place a timeout on an account (muting it from posting for between one hour and seven days), or ban an account from a specific board or from the site. Reported private messages become visible to moderators so they can review the report.
